Larry L. Adams, MD: Majoring in chemistry and graduated in 1968 from UNC Chapel Hill, Dr Adams obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree. Continuing his education through UNC, he graduated again in 1972 with his medical degree. Completing internships in OB/GYN, radiation oncology, and radiology through UNC Healthcare from 1972 to 1977; Dr Adams has been practicing radiology in eastern NC since 1977 and joined Coastal in 2011. We are excited to have such a valuable asset!

 

Floriece G. Blackmon, MD: With more than 20 years of medical knowledge, Dr. Blackmon graduated from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill School of Medicine in 1982. Specializing in diagnostic radiology, Dr. Blackmon never fails to bring joy to the office and the people she encounters!

 

 

 

Timothy P. Desmond, MD: Dr. Desmond graduated from Louisiana State University of Medicine in 1983 and then continued his education; finishing his diagnostic radiology residency in 1988. With over 20 years of diagnostic radiology knowledge, Dr. Desmond is certainly valued within the Coastal practice!

 

 

 

Catherine J. Everett, MD MBA FACR: Dr. Everett graduated from Duke University in 1972 with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. Earning her medical degree in 1976 from University of North Carolina School of Medicine, she continued her residency at North Carolina Memorial Hospital in diagnostic radiology, specializing in breast and musculoskeletal imaging. Being the first and only woman to serve as Chief of Staff at CEMC from Jan 2001 until Jan 2003, along with serving as President and Managing Partner of Coastal Radiology since 1980; we are pleased to have her as an unreplaceable asset!

 

Christopher W. FLye, MD: Graduating from university of North Carolina Chapel Hill in 1993 with MS in Biology, Dr Flye continued his education and received his medical degree from Wake Forest School of Medicine in 1998. A transitional internship at Riverside Regional Medical Center, followed by his radiology residency at UNC Medical Center, he then subsequently completed a fellowship in musculoskeletal imaging at University of Maryland. Dr Flye has become a virtue for Coastal Radiology!

 

James C. Lorentzen, MD: Dr. Lorentzen, originally from Ardmore, Oklahoma, graduated from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, with his medical degree in 1983. Continuing at Baylor, he completed an internal medicine residency in 1986. After 6 years of practicing general medicine, Dr. Lorentzen went back to residency. In 1996, he completed his radiology residency at University of Oklahoma Health. Having Dr. Lorentzen as a part of our team only makes us stronger!

 

Marcel A. MacGilvray, MD: Previously an officer in the US Navy, Dr. MacGilvray graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina in 2002 and continued his residency in diagnostic radiology at the University of Vermont until 2006. Joining Coastal Radiology in 2020, Dr. MacGilvray quickly became an unreplaceable asset!

 

 

Timothy C. Sloan, DVM, MD: Dr. Sloan obtained his Degree of Veterinary Medicine at NC State University. Afterwards, he continued his education and graduated from Wake Forest School of Medicine and then went on to complete an internship in internal medicine at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. Board certified in diagnostic radiology, he makes a great asset to our team!
